It’s Friday and that means…DVD heaven! I wanted to get the latest giveaway posted as well as announce the winners of last week’s giveaway but do me a favor and check back over the weekend for a slew of great DVD reviews that I’ll be posting. Some old (Room 222!) and some new (Southland) but all good TV-on-DVD selection!.

Damages Season 2 Giveaway: Last year’s first season DVD giveaway was so huge I couldn’t let the 2nd season DVD of the Glenn Close FX drama slip through my fingers without finding a few copies to giveaway (thanks FX and Sony for hooking me up!). If you missed the first episode of the third season, go to ITunes to download it (as of now, there are only clips on the FX site for the show) because it’s already shaping up to be a kick-ass season.
As for season 2, did the show hit a sophomore slump after a terrific first season? Not at all! With stellar guest stars for the season as William Hurt, Timothy Olyphant and Marcia Gay Harden the bar was raised even higher to keep the show on track and the show did it with no problem. Even Ted Danson pops up again as first season villain (or was he?) Arthur Frobisher! In the second season, Patty Hewes (Close) is visited by an old friend/lover (Hurt) who may or may not have killed his wife. Did he strangle his beloved wife? Did he and Patty have a child together years earlier? In the meantime, Ellen (Rose Byrne) is now working for the FBI to try to bring Patty down but that scenario proves tougher than she could have imagined when she gets involved with Olyphant’s maybe good/maybe bad character.
