Tony Award Performances From Last Night’s @HamiltonMusical -Filled Show

As predicted, Hamilton grabbed the bulk of the Tony Awards during last night’s show, hosted by James Corden.

The much-lauded musical was honored with 11 of its 16 nominations and each speech was more eloquent than the next. (Leslie Odom Jr, pictured left, won for Best Actor in a Musical)

Also, with the Orlando shooting still fresh in people’s minds, Corden started the show with a statement about the love in the room and that sentiment was repeated several times throughout the night.

However, as Corden promised at the top of the show, there would be much more in the show than Hamilton and he was right. Here are some of the show performances from the 70th Annual Tony Awards including, yes, the Lin Manuel Miranda show that, in my opinion, deserved every award it received.

The Color Purple (with Tony winner Cynthia Erivo)

School of Rock

Fiddler on the Roof

She Loves Me

Hamilton:

…and here are some of the acceptance speeches by Hamilton cast members Renee Elise Goldsberry, Daveed Diggs, Lin-Manuel Miranda and Leslie Odom, Jr as well as Corden’s inspired opening speech and the great words of 4-time Tony winner Frank Langella.
