It’s that time of year again when we’ve got to make a little noise around some of the shows that sit, in industry terms, on the bubble of renewal. While ABC renewed a slew of shows earlier this Spring, freshman comedy “The Real O’Neals” was not among them.
That said, hope is not lost and we’ve got time to convince the powers-that-be at ABC to make sure a slot is given to the terrific comedy that focuses on a gay teenager (Noah Galvin) and his family.
I could go on and on about why I love this show and why it needs to come back (actually, I did earlier in a post on XfinityTV. Check it out here.) but I did venture to the Disney offices where “The Real O’Neals” creators David Windsor & Casey Johnson (pictured here) let me hang out in their offices and talk to them about making the series and why they think it deserves to keep living.
Here’s the entire podcast where Trish Bendix and I talk about that as well as Beyonce’s Lemonade, Broadway’s The Color Purple, why American Psycho missed the mark for me as well as news on the “Looking” final movie premiere and much, much more.
