There are a lot of podcasts out there for you to spend your time listening to and I’ve thought about doing one in the past but I didn’t want to do one just to do one. I wanted to make sure I was giving you something unique and different than a lot of the other pop culture podcasts on the landscape.
So when my buddy and fellow journalist Trish Bendix and I started talking about doing a podcast together, two voices talking about LGBT programs, talent and issues out there made sense to me. Trish, of course, brings a lesbian perspective to our team but the girl knows her stuff across the board (hear her gush about Matt Bomer in this first episode) and she always brings a genuine excitement to the work that she passionately does at AfterEllen.com.
Once we really dove into the idea, we came up with a name and found some cool people to help us with a logo and even a theme song. But there was one more daunting task…
…we had to come up with the perfect first guest!
With the mid-season premiere of MTV’s “Faking It” being this Monday and also being a show Trish and I both loved because it features LGBT characters (as well as an intersex character) and regularly pushes the envelope, we thought there wasn’t a better person than the show’s Executive Producer/showrunner, Carter Covington.
And big thanks to Samee Junio who made us all sound great and edited the interview in with the regular part of our podcast.
