NECESSARY ROUGHNESS star Callie Thorne teases the SEXY TROUBLE coming up with guest star Jason Gedrick!

Is something brewing between Nico (Scott Cohen) and Dr. Dani (Callie Thorne)??

After the insanity of Saturday’s Rescue Me TCA panel, when Executive Producer Peter Tolan literally took off his pants to show his underwear to the room full of FX executives and shocked journalists, I was able to grab a few minutes with Callie Thorne, who played Sheila on the Denis Leary-starrer for seven seasons. As we all know, Thorne is now headlining her own series, USA’s hit Necessary Roughness, so I asked about the various romances going on in the show as well as her gut feeling about a second season renewal.

Jim Halterman:  When I talked to Mr. Blucas a few days ago, he hinted at a Dani/Nico something happening soon. What can you tell me about all these different relationships?

TK (Mehcad Brooks, l) gets counseled again by Dani (Thorne) as Nico (Cohen) watches.

Callie Thorne: They don’t show me too much because I think they want me to stay focused. but they’re definitely forming that triangle more. The fact that they brought in Andrea Anders and now Jason Gedrick for me it’s now getting to be a rhomboid of love relationships. Everybody is also meeting each other. I’ve met Andrea Anders’ character and now Matt (Blucas’ character) and Nico have met Jason Gedrick’s character so there’s a lot of trouble brewing but it’s all sexy trouble.

JH: Not that you needed more good-looking guys on your show!

CT: I mean, Jason Gedrick! It’s just like it’s dream casting. I actually thought they were joking when they said he was coming on.

JH: Which episode does he come in?

CT: Episode 7.

JH: Is he around for a few episodes or…?

CT: Right now he’s doing 7, 8 and 9 and I would love it if he were able to stay but I know he’s very busy, too. What I love about him is that he’s so handsome it kind of hurts your feelings [laughs] but he’s also very funny, which I didn’t always think of in things that I’ve seen him in. It’s so much fun. It makes him even sexier. I mean, really, do you have to be funny, too?

Will Dani (Thorne) and Matt (Marc Blucas) ever get their relationship on track?

JH: We’re all waiting to hear about a second season announcement and I’ve been hearing rumors that it’s a go. What does your gut tell you?

CT: In terms of do I think it’s happening? Nothing has been confirmed or official but I hope. I cross my fingers. It feels like we’ve only just begun in the storytelling and the kinds of people that we can have as clients and so let’s hope the rumors are true.
